David Lightman is a computer geek in the strictest sense of the word. A master at the primitive computers of the early 80', he uses the precurser to the internet to hack computersa round the world. Of particular interest is the Dept of Defense. After hacking into the DOD mainframe, David encounters WOPR. He is presented with titles such as Chess, Guerilla Warfare and Global Thermo Nuclear War. What David doesn't realize is that he has inadvertently begun the countdown to World War 3.
