Violet Sanford, aspiring to be a songwriter, leaves her small town home and supportive father for the Big Apple hoping to get her music career going. When she finds herself unemployed and her music career not going well she hears about a job opening at a bar called Coyote Ugly. After persuading the owner to give her a job among the other beautiful bartenders she comes in for her first night to find booming music and people dancing on the bar. Violet must now try to get over her stage fright as well as get her music career of the ground.
