After returning from the Australian Navy, John Ingram is surprised to find that his son has died in a car accident and his wife is injured. Getting healthy and grieving for their son they decide to seek refuge on their yacht. Things are going fine until one day they notice another boat. They find one survivor, Hughie Warriner(Billy Zane). Billy explains that everyone else on the boat has died of food poisoning. When John boards the boat to investigate leaving his wife behind he is faced with a horrifying situation.
