Kevin Lomax(Keanu Reeves) is a young hotshot attorney in a small town in Florida. He has never lost a case and this gets the attention of a big firm in New York. Against his mother's wishes Kevin and his wife go to New York hoping that this job will allow them to start a family. Once there the head of the firm John Milton showers him with wealth. With this new job Kevin is never at home and his wife is beginning to lose her mind. Kevin will find out soon that Mr. Milton has always had other plans for him.
