Based on the popular childrens book from Chris Van Allsburg, viewers are drawn to a doubting boys home on Christmas Eve. As he reviews his evidence for the non-existance of Santa, there is still the seed of uncertainty that he wants to believe. As he falls asleep waiting for Santa to (maybe) show up, the sounds of the night wake him up. Looking out the window, he sees the Polar Express stops in front of his house. Wanting to believe in Santa he goes aboard to begin one of the most intense adventures of his short life.
