A modern day retelling of the classic HG Wells tale. Ray Ferrier is a down and out mechanic who is just getting by while his kids are with his ex-wife. When they come to visit for the holidays, strange things begin to happen. An unusual electrical storms sweeps through the area followed by more unusual earth movement. Suddenly, a strange 3-legged mechanical beast springs from the ground and begins to kill innocent victims. Ray gathers his children together to outrun the carnage that is an invasion from outer space.
