Bringing the dark tale of Andrew Lloyd Weber's Phantom of the Opera was a daunting task for director Joel Schumacher. But with a stunning selection of music and sets to convey the gothic horror-romance that Weber envisioned the viewer is immersed in the Victorian era tragic tale. The Phantom is a disfigured shell of a man that falls in love with leading lady Christine Daae. While Christine has pity on the unsightly man, her heart is with Raoul. When the advances of the Phantom are rejected by Christine, tragic events befall the opera.
