Annie Porter becomes more than a regular bus driver as it is up to her to take charge and keep the bus she is riding on from exploding. Howard Payne is a disgruntled police officer who has rigged a bus with explosives and is holding the occupants hostage for ransom. However the bus is moveing and will explode unless it can stay over 50 mph. After the bus driver has a heart attack, Annie must take over the driving duties to keep the bus above 50 mph. Officer Jack Traven is the SWAT team member that must work to keep the bus passengers safe.
