Elliot is a young boy who finds a lost alien, ET, in his tool shed. The ET got separated from his ship when they were pursued by UFO hunters. Elliot, his older brother Michael and younger sister Gertie work together to help the lost ET. Unfortunately, the government finds out about ET and takes the whole family prisoner. Elliot is able to escape with the ET, and together with his friends, Elliot and the ET try to find a way to "phone home". Many heartwarming scenes in combination with innovative special effects make a great movie.
