William Wallace, returns home after the death of an heirless King, to find his homeland, although surviving, not doing to well under English rule. Wallace does however meet the woman he plans to marry. When this woman is murdered by the English, Wallace swears the English will rule them no longer. With his people not behind him Wallace attacks the English anyway. Now becoming a legend to his people they begin to follow him. Wallace is now only in the middle of his long and brutal journey to free his people.
