On Halloween in 1963, after a night of trick or treating, six year old Michael Myers returns home and for an unknown reason stabs his older sister to death. His parents come home and find him staring into space, holding the knife. Michael is sent to a mental institution where is treated by Dr. Samuel Loomis. Michael spends the next 15 years in the institution, then on Halloween night 1978 he escapes from the institution and goes back to his hometown to continue killing.
