A worker ant, Z-4195, in attempts to reconcile his feeling of insignificance, accidentally meets the beautiful Princess Bala and falls in love. To see her again he must switch places with a soldier ant friend Weaver during a parade. During the parade a war breaks out, Z becomes a hero during the battles, and puts a wrench in the plans of evil General Mandible, who is Bala's fiance'. Now in the middle of General Mandible and his love for Princess Bala, he must do what he can to save the colony and win the Princess.
