William H. Macy plays Jerry Lundegaard, a man who is deep in debt, gets no respect from his rich father-in-law, and cheats customers at the car dealership he works at. Now he's hired a not so dynamic duo to kidnap his wife, but the plan goes terribly wrong and soon leads to murder. Enter Marge Gunderson, a pregnant woman, and a cop in a small town called Brainerd where a double murder has just occured.
