Jude Law stars as Vassili Zaitsev a former peasant with a talent for sharpshooting. When he is promoted to sniper in the Russian army, he begins to attain hero status as he kills many men. The battle of Stalingrad could mean the fall of the Russians, so the Nazi Army brings its best sharpshooter, Major Konig to take care of the Russian sniper.
