The rings of power were created in ancient times by the Elven smiths. The dark Lord Sauron created another ring so he could rule all of the other rings. His ring was soon lost and not seen for centuries. Then by chance it falls into the hands of Bilbo Baggins, a hobbit, in the land called Shire. On his birthday Bilbo gives the ring to his young nephew Frodo. It is now Frodo's job to journey across middle-earth and destroy the ring in the cracks of doom.
