Having a difficult and cruel childhood plagued by abuse and drugs, Aileen Wuornos(Charlize Theron) became a prostitute by the age of 13. Eventually she moves to Florida and becomes a prostitute there servicing the needs of truck drivers. This movie takes place in a nine month period in 1989-1990 when Aileen began a lesbian relationship with a woman named Selby. She also began murdering her clients in order to get money without having sex with them.
