Based loosely on Homer's epic poem, THE ODYSSEY, this film is set in Mississippi in the 1930's. It follows three men who have just escaped from a chain gang. Everett Ulysses McGill, Delmar and Pete, after escaping, are on their way to find the buried loot of a bank heist. Along the way they run into many strange characters and sticky situations, they even manage to make a country music album. But in the end they find that the blind prophet was right, the treasure they were after was not the treasure they found.
