Bambi is a young deer who loses his mother to hunters. He flees deep into the forest where he befriends Thumper the rabbit and Flower the skunk. Through his many adventures, Bambi grows into an adolecent deer, naive in the ways of the world. When hunters return to the forest, a raging fire ensues bringing Bambi's father, the king of the forest, out to help Bambi escape to safety.
